The Canadian Research Knowledge Network is accepting proposals from experienced copyright consultants interested in advising on a forthcoming Rights Statement Pilot Project.
This project will define user rights on a sample segment of CRKN digital heritage resources included in the Canadiana collections. Following a review and assessment of the pilot, the goal of the project is to apply the resulting framework to CRKN’s entire digital heritage collection. The copyright consultant will propose the framework for determining these rights, as well as recommend updates to the Terms of Use for the Canadiana collections, review controlled rights statement vocabulary, and develop additional related policies and processes.
In particular, CRKN is seeking a copyright consultant with expertise in Public Domain and Fair Dealing law, drafting Terms of Use for digital heritage content, licenses and statements used in the Canadian digital heritage context, and developing policies to address copyright-related needs.
For more information, please see the full Request for Proposals. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 27, 2020 at 5 p.m. E.T.
