The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to announce that the Canadiana Online collection is now discoverable through WorldCat, the world’s most comprehensive database of information about library collections.
Canadiana Online includes 19 million pages of digitized monographs, serials, and government publications dating from the 16th century to the 1920s. Since Canadiana Online and its related collection, Héritage, became accessible at no charge in January 2019, the CRKN team has continued to improve metadata, promote discoverability, and enhance the functionality of these collections with the goal of reaching the widest possible audience. Including Canadiana Online metadata in WorldCat will help accomplish this goal by allowing Canadian documentary heritage to be discovered by more researchers than ever before.
