Persistent identifiers (PIDs) are unique digital codes that identify researchers, research institutions, and their works, and are key to maintaining an interoperable and reliable global research infrastructure. CRKN is the administrative lead of two Canadian PID consortia, dedicated to promoting and supporting the use of PIDs in Canada:
- ORCID-CA: the ORCID Canada Consortium
- The DataCite Canada Consortium, co-managed with the Digital Research Alliance of Canada
CRKN is also leading in the development of a Canadian national PID strategy.
