Courtney Vienneau is the Shannon School of Business (SSOB) Liaison Librarian and Copyright Librarian at Cape Breton University located in Unama'ki (Cape Breton Island). She started at CBU as University Records & Privacy Officer in 2019 and then transitioned into her role as Liaison Librarian in October 2021. Courtney’s current goals include diversifying her library’s business collections, designing information literacy sessions with accessibility in mind, and helping students overcome barriers in the research process.

Within research and knowledge sharing institutions, there is an increasing focus on improving equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA). New graduates and early career librarians are often asked how they integrate EDIA into their work, without necessarily having had the experience to address this fully. A panel of white, settler, early career librarians on the 2SLGBTQIA+ spectrum will discuss how they are dealing with multiple priorities while addressing the needs of diverse users, and how they view community support as a tool to develop their understanding of EDIA in life and work.
