Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre
Kristin Kozar is the Engagement Lead and a Co-Lead of the Oral Testimony Program at the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre. She is also a proud member of the Hwlitsum First Nation where she served on council for 6 years. She has completed her MLIS degree with a concentration in First Nation curriculum in 2018 and has previously worked at what was formerly known as UBC Aboriginal Health. Further, Kristin has worked on numerous projects where she researched and analyzed best practices and methodologies to further Indigenous data sovereignty.

The Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre works to support meaningful access to Residential School records for survivors and their families in British Columbia and beyond. Our presentation will describe a project at the Centre to update the names of Indigenous communities on our residential school records for British Columbia.
