Lyle Ford is Associate University Librarian, Indigenous Engagement at the University of Manitoba. He works on original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis. He traces his Red River Métis ancestry back to the 1790s. A librarian since 1995, he also holds an MA in English. He’s provided service to museum goers, undergraduates and faculty in Alberta, and undergraduates, graduates, and faculty from several different disciplines in Manitoba. In his current role, he seeks to foster opportunities for Indigenous students, faculty, staff, and community members to help the library develop, and share, its collections and services in relevant ways.
