Masha Cemma
Dr. Masha Cemma is a policy advisor to the Chief Science Advisor of Canada, Dr. Mona Nemer. In that role, she advises on the Open Science file and science advice in emergencies and has supported the creation of the Roadmap for Open Science and the Open Science Dialogues. Prior to working with the Chief Science Advisor, Dr. Cemma has completed a Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowship at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Dr. Cemma earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto in 2016. Her first exposure to science policy was through a fellowship at the World Health Organization while still in graduate school. She further honed her policy skillset via the Action Canada Fellowship and a certificate program through the London School of Economics.
