Stéphanie Gagnon
As member of the Université de Montréal's Libraries Executive team since 2013, Stéphanie Gagnon previously held the position of Director of Collections (2013 to 2018), before becoming Director of the ÉPC-Biologie, Aménagement, Musique, and Laval Libraries (2018-2019), and finally, University librarian, since September 3, 2019.
Renowned for its dynamism, innovative approach, and authenticity, she oversees the coordinated development of the large network of fourteen libraries of the Université de Montréal (UdeM) and its conservation centers.
She is particularly committed to making the UdeM Libraries a champion of open science, recognizing that it is already fully reflected in the development of inclusive and welcoming spaces at de Université de Montréal Libraries where institutional and international scientific production are accessible to its communities.
Committed to collaborative work, she sits on a number of committees, including the Quebec University Libraries Board of Directors, which oversees the activities of the Partenariat des bibliothèques universitaires du Québec (PBUQ), the PBUQ Strategic Committee on Library Support for Journals (which she has chaired since 2020), the PBUQ working group on the Conservation of Print Collections, the Coalition Publi.ca Steering Committee, and the Université Laval Vedettes-Matières Directory Governance Committee, which she co-chairs. She has represented Quebec institutions on the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) Board of Directors since June 1, 2023.
Stéphanie holds a bachelor's degree in French literature from Université Laval and a master's degree in library and information science from Université de Montréal.
