One week after COVID-19 hit Ontario, Carleton Immersive Media Studio was awarded a SSHRC grant for their proposal on researching the history of the National Arts Centre. Thus introduced the challenge of conducting historical research on a heritage site without physical access. This presentation will give an overview of the NAC@50+ project and how CIMS has collaborated with their partners at the National Arts Centre in accessing the building for heritage documentation and archival research during a period of time where access has been limited. It will also detail the ways in which CIMS have been disseminating their work to the various stakeholders on the project, including its partners and co-applicants.
