Michael McDonald
Mike McDonald, Q.C., has been practicing in all aspects of Indigenous Business and finance law for over 30 years, was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2017, is a former director and Treasurer of the Indigenous Bar Association, and has been a recognized speaker and writer in the field of Indigenous Business Law for decades. He is Cree and a member of the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba. He is also former Chair of the CBA (BC) Aboriginal Law Subsection, recently Co-chair of the Law Society of BC’s Truth and Reconciliation Working Group, and Sessional Lecturer on Aboriginal Business at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Mike is a partner with Clark Wilson LLP and is currently Chair of the firm’s Indigenous Law Group. Mr. McDonald, Q.C. is a skilled negotiator equally comfortable in the Indigenous community and in the corporate boardroom. He has acted on numerous on-reserve real estate development projects in many jurisdictions.
