CRKN is pleased to participate in the Canadian Scholarly Publishing Working Group building on work and partnerships developed over the past few years. The Working Group includes stakeholders from across the full spectrum of the Canadian scholarly communications ecosystem and on November 7, 2016, the Working Group held its first full-day meeting in Ottawa.
CRKN fully supports the exploration and continued development of collaborative publishing and dissemination models. With many diverse groups throughout Canada discussing and developing solutions to ensure sustainable models that support the widespread distribution of research, this Working Group aims to bring stakeholders together, to leverage our collective expertise, and to discuss solutions required for on-going and future support of the scholarly record in Canada. Much of the work that CRKN has done to date, including our innovative partnership with Érudit, our work on the Institutional Mobilization Toolkit and more, fit well within the context of these on-going and productive discussions with our colleagues across Canada.
