The CRKN Board of Directors is pleased to welcome a new Associate Member to the CRKN membership: Yukon University. Yukon University is the first CRKN member that is located in Canada’s North, further expanding the geographic reach of the membership. The institution was approved at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Members and is participating in CRKN’s content licensing program.
Yukon University is the first university in Canada’s North. It has been a learning institution for 60 years and was granted university status in 2020. Based in Whitehorse, it delivers a wide variety of programs to local and international students across its 13 campuses. Yukon University is grounded in learning and research relevant to the North and is committed to applying its northern expertise to the opportunities and experiences it offers.
“Yukon University is thrilled to join the CRKN membership,” said Dr. Shelagh Rowles, Provost and Vice-President Academic. “This is an exciting opportunity to enhance our scholarly communications strategy and join this membership with a diverse group of institutions across Canada. We’re proud to bring the knowledge and expertise of Canada’s North to the forefront.”
