The Canadian Research Knowledge Network is pleased to introduce Jason Friedman, Member Services & Licensing Officer, effective October 11, 2016. In this role, Jason will have responsibility for providing license maintenance support to members, administering the content program including coordinating and supporting the negotiations process and on-going contracts management. Jason will work closely with the Content Strategy Committee, provide staff support to the Serials Management Sub-committee and will advance CRKN's Journal Value Analytics service.
Jason comes to CRKN with member experience having most recently been in the role of Electronic Resources Technician at University of Ottawa where he helped to ensure access to electronic resources working in close collaboration with systems, reference, collections and copyright librarians and staff. His experience serving a bilingual community, and resolving access issues for clients on many platforms, including content licensed by CRKN will be a tremendous asset to CRKN. Jason has previous experience working in a variety of academic and library environments, with particular interests in e-resource acquisitions and assessment.
Jason completed his Master of Information Studies from the University of Ottawa in 2014. He has a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in History and a minor in English from George Washington University and a Master of Arts in History from McGill University.
CRKN will benefit from the perspective that Jason brings coming from a member institution and his experience serving a bilingual community. He is a welcome addition to our team. We look forward to introducing Jason to the CRKN community in person during the AGM in Halifax October 18-20.
