National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) Update
The National Heritage Digitization Strategy (NHDS) was created in 2016 to bring together Canadian memory institutions to improve access to digital collections and better preserve our cultural heritage. Over the past year, the NDHS has expanded its governing structure and embarked on an ambitious strategic planning process to refine its mission and vision. The Executive Committee of the NHDS has engaged the community in this strategic planning process so that the future of the NHDS may be shaped by the community collectively.
In this session, Jonathan Bengtson, Chair of the NHDS Executive Committee, and Carole Urbain, Chair of the NHDS Advisory Committee, will provide an update on the NHDS strategic planning process to date, and share results of a community survey and open community calls. We hope to engage and inform attendees on this important national initiative as we move forward to a new strategic plan.
