Indigenous Initiatives and Instruction Librarian
Simon Fraser University
Ashley Edwards is the Indigenous Initiatives and Instruction Librarian at Simon Fraser University. Raised on Stó:lō territory, she has Métis, Scottish, and Dutch heritages. Ashley grew up without connection to her Métis roots, and she’s grateful to the Mètis Nation of BC community. Her interest in Indigenous Librarianship has been influenced by this personal journey of reclamation. Ashley has a Library Technician diploma (2009), and a BA in Adult Education (2015) from the University of the Fraser Valley, and a MLIS degree from the University of Alberta (2020).
