CRKN and the ORCID-CA Consortium are pleased to announce that CARL Portage has joined ORCID-CA as its 38th member.
Portage was launched in 2015 by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) to contribute to the shared stewardship of research data and address specific gaps in national research data management infrastructure in Canada. Portage collaborates with a broad range of stakeholders and partners locally, nationally, and internationally to build capacity and develop services and infrastructure so that all academic researchers in Canada have access to the support they need for research data management.
By becoming a member of ORCID-CA, Portage joins a growing number of Canadian institutions that support ORCID’s unique identification and reliable connectivity of researchers and their work. As a leader in promoting good data stewardship and the provision of services for research data management in Canada, Portage fully endorses the use of persistent identifiers like ORCID and plans to integrate ORCID with the Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR) and the DMP Assistant.
Portage joins institutions including CIFAR, the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, the National Research Council, and universities across the country in ORCID-CA membership.
