Dana McFarland is Librarian & Coordinator for eResources & Scholarly Communication at Vancouver Island University Library. She co-chairs the Coordinating Committee of CWAC (Canadian Web Archiving Coalition), and formerly served on the Open Repositories Working Group of CARL. She is vice-chair for CRKN's Preservation & Access Committee and Chair of the Canadiana Content Sub-committee. She is a librarian for the Community Scholars Program, which connects eligible unaffiliated scholars in BC with academic library resources and services.

The merger has led to advanced value for members in both content and in the potential of the infrastructure. The session will include a brief overview of the Canadiana Collections, including highlights from recent additions to both Canadiana and Heritage. Additionally, we will provide an update about the newly formed Canadiana Content Sub-Committee’s recent work on collections strategy and prioritization as well as recent modernization and user driven enhancements to CRKN’s cultural and heritage collections and infrastructure. We’ll also talk about the impact of the Canadiana Collections on the Canadian researcher and teaching community and provide an update on the RG10 ICR Transcription Pilot Project.
