The merger has led to advanced value for members in both content and in the potential of the infrastructure. The session will include a brief overview of the Canadiana Collections, including highlights from recent additions to both Canadiana and Heritage. Additionally, we will provide an update about the newly formed Canadiana Content Sub-Committee’s recent work on collections strategy and prioritization as well as recent modernization and user driven enhancements to CRKN’s cultural and heritage collections and infrastructure. We’ll also talk about the impact of the Canadiana Collections on the Canadian researcher and teaching community and provide an update on the RG10 ICR Transcription Pilot Project.

Building on the robust discussions on CRKN’s Canada Foundation for Innovation, Innovation Fund grant application at last year’s CRKN business meetings, this session will provide an update to members on how the project vision has evolved over the past year. We will also introduce the new research team, discuss how this infrastructure will facilitate future research, and outline the timeline and status of the application. This session will also include a detailed discussion of the ongoing financial support needed from members in the next few years, to support Canadiana services and Infrastructure as we develop the CFI IF application to transform Canadiana into our collective vision for essential infrastructure that enables cutting-edge research.
