Collaborate, Communicate, and Connect through CARL’s Communities of Practice
The Canadian Association of Research Libraries’ (CARL) Communities of Practice (CoPs) are vital spaces where Canadian research library professionals come together to collaborate, innovate, and share knowledge. This session will introduce three of CARL’s CoPs—Canadian Repositories, Library Publishing, and Bibliometrics and Research Impact—and discuss how each community contributes to open knowledge and sustainable futures within Canada’s research ecosystem. Through collective expertise and shared goals, these CoPs tackle common challenges, advance open-access infrastructure, foster inclusive publishing models, and support evidence-based decision-making, among others. Attendees will gain insights into the CoPs’ activities, achievements, lessons learned, and their role in building a more sustainable research ecosystem in Canada.
