CRKN is pleased to announce that a team from Clark Wilson LLP, led by Michal Jaworski, has been chosen as the consultant for the Rights Statement Pilot Project. The selection was made with the guidance of CRKN’s Preservation and Access Committee.
The Rights Statement Pilot Project will define user rights on a sample segment of digital documentary heritage materials included in the Canadiana collections. Following a review and assessment of the pilot, the goal of the project is to apply the resulting framework to the entirety of the Canadiana collections. The copyright consultant will propose the framework for determining these rights, as well as recommend updates to the Terms of Use for the Canadiana collections, review controlled rights statement vocabulary, and develop additional related policies and processes.
The project officially launched on June 17 and an update on progress is expected to be shared at CRKN’s annual conference in October.
CRKN looks forward to working with Michal and his team on this exciting project. For more information, please contact:
