Brian Owen Named Recipient of the 2017 Ron MacDonald Distinguished Service Award
Ottawa – September 14, 2017 – The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to announce Brian Owen as the recipient of the 2017 Ron MacDonald Distinguished Service Award. The award will be presented on October 19, 2017 in Montreal, Quebec as part of CRKN’s annual general meeting.

Ottawa, Ontario, August 23, 2017 – The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to announce that Gloria Booth-Morrison has joined the organization as ORCID-CA Member Support Specialist effective August 8, 2017.
Gloria comes to CRKN from the University of Ottawa, an ORCID-CA member, where she worked as a Science and Engineering Librarian. As part of her role there, she designed and delivered workshops relating to journal selection, authors’ rights, and citation metrics.

The Canadian National Digital Heritage Index (CNDHI) is an index of digitized Canadian heritage collections located at Canadian universities and provincial and territorial libraries. Supported by funding from Library and Archives Canada and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, CNDHI, launched in April 2016, is designed to increase awareness of, and access to digital heritage collections in Canada, to support the academic research enterprise and to facilitate information sharing within the Canadian documentary heritage community.

ORCID and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), with support from a working group of 16 Canadian stakeholders who are all deeply committed to supporting research, scholarship, and innovation in Canada, are collaborating to build ORCID-CA, the ORCID consortium in Canada.
