Jean Blackburn is the Collections Coordinator at Vancouver Island University Library. In addition to collections, she provides liaison services for health programs at VIU, and is part of the library’s systems and interlibrary loan teams.

As we undertake the ongoing learning necessary to realize our decolonization commitments, we have drafted a document entitled “Situating Representations of Indigenous Knowledge in Place & Context: Recommendations for Vendors” as a resource for vendors and publishers to consider and apply to their practice as they seek to provide services to us. Presenters will discuss thematic web archives in relation to emerging collections strategy in two different organizations. Web archiving activity is generally preservation-driven, and thematic web archiving in specific may be as well; however thematic approaches also effectively seek to augment traditional library collections with web-based content that is aligned with collections scope or mandates.
