Optimizing Research Assessment through ROR IDs: Insights from Université Laval Library's Experience
In March 2024, the Université Laval Library was tasked with managing ROR IDs within the institution. Beyond managing the institution’s ROR ID, the Library also supports qualifying research groups in creating their own ROR IDs, enabling them to better assess their publication output. This presentation will explore two specific cases, showcasing how tailored ROR IDs can enhance research visibility and evaluation, and expand on ways to make active use of ROR IDs.
Since the mandate in March, the Library has established multiple ROR IDs and shared its expertise with affiliated institutions, ensuring researchers are equipped with relevant and concise guidance. The Library has also acted as a consultant for Université Laval’s affiliated institutions and has helped rectify some of the relationships within its own ROR record. The results are promising, but they sometimes come with challenges. Successes, obstacles, and insights gained by the Library will be discussed during this presentation.
